Unit X

1 - Inspired by Bruce Asbestos' passion for using bright colours, we've created a series of looks featuring 'our monsters', five figurative characters representing issues we each confront in our life.

2 - Working across the disciplines of Graphic Design and Fashion Art Direction, we explored the theme of monsters to produce outfits, which are collected into this digital lookbook and accompanying behind-the-scenes film.

3 - Both Graphic Design & Fashion Art Direction students came together for Unit X to metaphorically explore their own individual "monsters" heavily inspired by Bruce Asbestos' use of colors. A cross-disciplinary collaboration and behind the scene expressed in a chaotic sense with no limitation on the project. 

As a reaction to Bruce Asbestos' use of SCALE and COLOUR
in his works, we began to think about other things
which exhibit MONSTROUS and BIZARRE features.

Around the idea of MONSTERS, we explored personal
and societal issues including STRESS, CONSUMERISM, OPPRESSION,
DOUBTS, and NOSINESS, developing five personal themes
which guided the design of four LOOKS.

This lookbook invites you to ESCAPE from the
confines of everyday life.
